Welcome to StudyTrack. Please read these Terms and Conditions ("Terms") carefully before using our service.

1. Agreement to Terms

By accessing or using StudyTrack ("Service", "App", "we", "us", or "our"), you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you disagree with any part of these terms, you may not access the Service.

2. Description of Service

StudyTrack is a web-based study tracking application that helps users:

• Track study sessions and habits
• Manage study schedules
• Monitor progress with statistics and reports
• Access data across multiple devices via cloud synchronization
• Use productivity tools including timers and calculators

3. Account Registration

3.1 Account Creation

• You must provide accurate and complete information when creating an account
• You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and password
• You must be at least 13 years old to use this Service
• One person or entity may not maintain more than one account

3.2 Account Security

• You are responsible for all activities that occur under your account
• You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account
• We are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your failure to maintain account security

4. Free Trial and Subscription

4.1 Free Trial

• New users receive a 7-day free trial with full access to all features
• The trial period begins when you create your account
• We may modify or cancel the free trial offer at any time

4.2 Paid Subscription

• After the free trial ends, continued access requires a paid subscription
• Current subscription price: $2.00 USD per month
• Subscriptions automatically renew monthly unless cancelled
• We reserve the right to change subscription prices with 30 days notice

4.3 Payment

• Payment is processed securely through Stripe
• You authorize us to charge your payment method monthly
• All fees are non-refundable except as required by law or as stated in Section 5

4.4 Billing

• You will be billed on the same day each month
• If payment fails, we will attempt to charge your payment method up to 3 times
• If payment continues to fail, your subscription will be cancelled and access will be revoked

5. Cancellation and Refunds

• Refunds may be issued within 7 days of the charge

• Refunds are processed within 5-7 business days
• We reserve the right to refuse refunds if we detect abuse of the refund policy

5.3 Free Trial Cancellation

• You may cancel during the free trial period without being charged

6. User Content and Data

6.1 Your Data

• You retain all rights to the data you input into StudyTrack (study sessions, notes, etc.)
• You grant us a license to use, store, and process your data solely to provide the Service
• We will not sell, share, or use your data for purposes other than providing the Service

6.2 Data Storage

• Your data is stored securely using Google Firebase/Firestore
• We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data
• Despite our efforts, no data transmission over the internet is 100% secure

6.3 Data Export

• You may export your data at any time using our export features
• Export formats include PDF and CSV

6.4 Data Deletion

• You may delete your account and all associated data at any time through account settings
• Deleted data is permanently removed within 30 days
• Some data may be retained as required by law or for legitimate business purposes

7. Acceptable Use

7.1 You Agree NOT To:

• Use the Service for any illegal purpose
• Violate any laws in your jurisdiction
• Infringe on intellectual property rights
• Upload malicious code or attempt to compromise security
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service
• Use the Service to harass, abuse, or harm others
• Attempt to reverse engineer the Service
• Use automated tools to access the Service without permission
• Resell or redistribute the Service without authorization

7.2 Account Suspension

• We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms
• Suspension may occur without prior notice in cases of severe violations
• No refunds will be issued for suspended or terminated accounts

8. Intellectual Property

8.1 Service Ownership

• The Service, including all content, features, and functionality, is owned by StudyTrack
• The Service is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws
• You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works without permission

8.2 Limited License

• We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Service
• This license is solely for your personal, non-commercial use
• The license terminates when your subscription ends or account is closed

8.3 Trademarks

• "StudyTrack" and associated logos are our trademarks
• You may not use our trademarks without prior written permission

9. Third-Party Services

9.1 Integrated Services

The Service integrates with third-party services including:

• Stripe (payment processing)
• Google Firebase/Firestore (data storage)
• EmailJS (email delivery)

9.2 Third-Party Terms

• Your use of third-party services is subject to their respective terms and policies
• We are not responsible for third-party service failures or changes
• We may change or discontinue third-party integrations at any time

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

10.2 No Professional Advice

• The Service is a tool for personal organization and tracking
• It does not constitute educational, medical, or professional advice
• You are responsible for your own study decisions and outcomes

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless StudyTrack from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including legal fees) arising from:

• Your use of the Service
• Your violation of these Terms
• Your violation of any rights of another party
• Your content or data

13. Privacy

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.

14. Changes to Terms

14.1 Modification Rights

• We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time
• We will notify you of material changes via email or in-app notification
• Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of new Terms

14.2 Notice Period

• Material changes will take effect 30 days after notification
• If you do not agree to changes, you may cancel your subscription

15. Account Termination

15.1 Termination by You

• You may terminate your account at any time through account settings
• Termination does not entitle you to refunds for unused subscription time

15.2 Termination by Us

We may terminate or suspend your account for:

• Violation of these Terms
• Fraudulent activity
• Abusive behavior
• Non-payment

16. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of New Zealand. Any disputes will be resolved in accordance with New Zealand law.
